IRCTC Summer Special Train list 2019: Special Seats for Summer Vacation
Passengers’ convenience and continuous improvement in reliability and performance of trains are the end motives of Indian Railways. Indian Railways has adopted this motive to deliver a comfortable journey to the passengers. However, there are some circumstances when Indian Railways has to face a sudden rush of passengers during vacation or festivals. For the convenience and to clear the extra rush of passengers, the Indian Railways have announced and will run summer special trains in some of the most crowded routes. Since people plan trips during summer vacations, IR plan ahead to handle the additional summertime pressure and rush by introducing summer special trains across the country. The operational management of the Indian Railways is divided into many zones and each zone has announced their special trains. Check the list of special trains and their train running status to successfully book and board your train for a loving summer vacation.
South Central Railway (SCR):
SCR has announced over 25 summer special trains. These trains will run between Sambalpur-Banaswadi and will cover areas including Bargarh Road, Bolangir, Tilagarh Junction, Kesinga, Rayagada, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Duvvada, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, and Vijayawada.
Central Railways (CR):
CR will run 96 additional summer special trains. These trains will clear the extra rush of passengers and guarantee a confirm ticket to every traveler for their summer vacation. These special trains will run on special charges between Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Varanasi, Barauni and Nagpur.
Western Railway (WR):
Western Railways wing will run 18 summer special trains including Mumbai Central-Lucknow Junction Weekly Superfast Suvidha Special Train (16 trips), Mumbai Central-Lucknow Jn Weekly Superfast Special Train, Bandra(T)-Ghazipur City Special Train etc. The special trains will start from Mumbai, Udhna, Ahmedabad, Gandhidham and Indore and run to various parts of the country like New Delhi, Jammu Tawi, Jaipur, Ajmer, Patna, Gorakhpur, Amritsar, Chappra, Agra, and Mangalore. The bookings are open from 2nd April in all the PRS counters with an advance reservation period of 120 days. Passengers can book their tickets online via IRCTC ticket booking portal.
Southern Railway(SR)
The Southern Railway zone has also announced the “Nilgiri” summer special trains between Mettupalayam to Udhagamandalam and back over Nilgiri Mountain Railway section. It will cover areas like Kallar, Hillgrove, Coonoor, Wellinton, Aravankadu, Ketti, and Lovedale.
The entire list of trains for some zones is yet to be announced. The list will be made public very soon.
